I just couldn't pass up sharing this picture series. We were at my parents house at the end of May, and John had been playing hard all morning. He could barely finish his lunch without his head rolling and bobbing up and down. It was really funny to watch! Definitely nap time for the little fella!
Here, also at my parents' house, John catches his first fish (with Brad's help!).
Truman shows off his surfing skills on his new birthday chair!
How much do you love your chocolate? These Smucker boys put me to shame!
The end of June brought a Floyd Family Reunion (my Mom's side of the family). It was a great time of seeing and visiting with family. Here we're riding in my Uncle David's boat. John and Evelyn rode with my parents up in the front.
Once again... poor John is all tuckered out! He fell asleep as we were bouncing through the water. The rhythm of the boat can certainly lull one to sleep... I can attest to that myself!
Oh, and of course I have to throw in a picture of our fun family surprise! We were all delighted to find out that I'm pregnant with #4!!! Baby Cuatro is due January 19.
Well, on the day we found out that I was pregnant with #4, Brad came home from work and was greeted by a garlicky kitchen. I told him I had really been craving garlic, and after I cooked our dinner I realized that he would probably think there was too much garlic in it (and then start taunting me about garlic again!). So I took it upon myself to pick alot of the sauteed garlic out of the skillet and eat it right away. He looked at me in a funny way and said, "Have you taken a pregnancy test?" I answered "No, I haven't even thought of it", between my continuing bites of garlic pieces. As he continued to look at me in a funny way, he said "As soon as the kids go to bed, we'll go do that." And thus, we found out I was pregnant when a big blue "plus" sign showed up immediately on the test.
We've been so grateful to God for this little life growing inside me ever since that first moment! And just this past week, I've started to feel movement... which is always fun! And for those who are interested in how old the others will be, Evelyn will have just turned 5, John will have just turned 3, and Truman will be 20 months.
Now, moving on with other updates... John looks so grown-up with this berry smoothie mustache!
Truman, ever adventurous, went straight up to this sprinkler (it's not the friendly sort, either!). He watched it from behind for a moment, then went in for a swift grab. He sat behind it, controlling which way it sprayed, for 10-15 minutes. What an attention span!
Ever heard of these Magic Nuudles? We got them at Hobby Lobby, and they're great fun for kids (and maybe for adults, too). You dab the ends on a wet sponge, and then push them together. They stick together, to make all sorts of fun shapes. When you're tired of them, dump them in the sink and run water over them. They dissolve and go down the drain!
Our visit to Lavender Ridge in Gainesville, TX. How sweet that John and Evie were walking around holding hands! Later, as we were cutting lavender, it was so hot (at 9:30am) that all our kids were crying very loudly. Brad and I enjoyed it, though!
Here are pictures from a visit to the Children's Museum in Denison. We're so glad to be members! Our kids really enjoy it!
Truman is the smiliest little guy I know. He's very quick to smile and make silly faces!
Evelyn got her face painted at the Children's Museum. She was sooo excited!
Early July brought a visit from Brad's parents. It was wonderful to have them here! No doubt, I have the best in-laws imaginable. I always wish we could see them more frequently and for longer periods of time!
Brad and Grandpa set up a pool at the bottom of the slide in our backyard. Evelyn and John loved sliding into it! A good way to try to stay cool in the 100 degree weather!
John knows he's not supposed to cover the room (or Truman's head) with baby powder. That's why he had that guilty look on his face when I walked in with the camera! Of course, the fact that I had a camera might possibly be sending mixed signals. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity, though! This was the first of 3 days in a row that he covered Truman's room (and Truman's head) in powder!
And the last of my updates is one of my favorites. My sister, Faith, is recently engaged to Felix Landry! I'm so very excited for Faith, and I'm really looking forward to having Felix as a member of our family. Their wedding date is set for October 10. Congratulations, Faith and Felix!!! Yipppeee-Yiy-Yaaayyyy!!!!!! (Aren't they an attractive couple?)
