As they were walking back to their rooms for bed, I heard John say, "Hey, Daddy!!! What about my tajamas??!!"
And Brad replied, "Well, John, you didn't obey the first time, when I asked you to get your pajamas on. So now you'll have to go to sleep without any clothes on." (Brad and I were both thinking that this would be a good lesson in obedience for him.)
Silence-- for a few seconds. Then I heard a "Wooo-hoooo!!!" (I guess this one backfired on us!)

Since I last posted, over a month and a half ago, alot has happened! Which, I suppose, is part of the reason why I haven't had time to update the blog! Here's a few highlights...
Evelyn turned 6 on November 30, and she had a princess party. About 15 of her friends came, dressed in their favorite beautiful, sparkly, fancy dresses! I love this age! I don't know when she'll outgrow the princess dress-up stage, but my guess is that it will be sooner than I'd like. I'm so glad we're enjoying it at every opportunity now! Here's a few party pics:

A few weeks after that, Brad and I headed off to Hawaii for 10 days... leaving our children in the very capable hands of their grandparents. Brad's parents took the first few days, and my parents took the remainder of the time.
I'm not going to lie... that was hard for me! I was nervous about leaving my kiddos for so long, and going to "the other side of the world". Or it felt like that, anyway. I'd never been to Hawaii prior to this trip.
But God answered the prayers of many that were praying for me, and Brad and I had a fantastic time! He had a Chemistry conference to attend for the first week that we were there. Thankfully, my dear friend, Sara, lives nearby with her husband (Doug) and baby boy (Ethan). So she and I spent a good bit of time together. It was so great to see her!
The last several days, Brad and I drove around the island (Oahu), hiked up an inactive volcano, and also went on a short little cruise. Such fun! We saw whales, dolphins, sea turtles, jellyfish and flying fish, and we got to snorkel! I've never snorkeled before, but I'd do it again! Once I got a rhythm to my breathing, and stopped hyperventilating and inhaling ocean water, everything was great!
We saw lots of beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and we saw alot of interesting people. The food was very good, and the weather was so lovely. Temperatures in the 70's- 80's, with lots of bright sunshine. Except for 2 days where it rained (downpoured) nonstop. I was ready to pack up and head home at that point, but the beautiful sunshine came out again!
