Gravity + Concrete = OUCH

Poor John! He certainly shed many tears, and said "Oowwwww" alot. And there was blood. Lots and lots of blood. This is the worst he's been hurt yet in his two years. But the kid's tough, that's for sure.

Oh, I haven't told you what happened yet?

He fell face-first out of our car, onto the concrete parking lot at church.

Yep.

The only thing that helped to break his fall was his nose. And teeth and chin. Hence all the blood, which came pouring out of both nostrils and his mouth simultaneously. Thank the Lord, we were parked next to a dentist, who took a look and told us that he tore his frenulum. Oh my! What is that? That's the little attachy-thingy that connects your upper gums with your upper lip. His gums still look like a bluish-red mush, and one of his teeth got knocked back. But I took John to see his pediatric dentist on Monday, and she said that we have a 50% chance of that tooth surviving. I sure hope it does!!!

This is what he looked like on Monday, after he was all cleaned up:

John has been his normal self, climbing everything in sight, running everywhere he goes, practicing his balancing acts on chairs and couches and even on his tricycle seat. I'm having a harder time than he is. In addition to anxiously hovering-to-catch-but-pretending-like-I'm-calm-and-collected, my stomach turns and gets queasy every time I look at his mouth or even think about it. I used to be fascinated by all kinds of medical pictures and scenarios. Not anymore, apparently. Maybe because he's my kid. Or I've just gone wimpy. But no me gusta!

Poor John. I can hardly bear looking at the picture. But Kyle sure is fascinated by it. He keeps asking about John's booboo. Love and hugs to all of you! ~Cindy

Goodness, the news is now dated but I read it for the first time. I'm so glad God was protecting your son.
